Just off the shore of one of the nation’s most expensive zip codes, a community of free-spirited boat dwellers has found a way to live rent-free next to millionaires. But now, as enforcement ramps up, their floating utopia is under threat.

The COVID-19 “Miracle Man”

Staff at Queens Hospital called 68-year-old COVID patient Rudy Corletto the “miracle man.” The grandfather spent 29 days on a ventilator during New York’s brutal first wave of the pandemic, when most ICU patients didn’t make it. We were there when he was finally discharged.

America’s Last Affordable Housing Is Under Threat

Across the US, corporate buyers are purchasing mobile home parks and driving up rents for those on the brink of being homeless. VICE News went to Fresno, California, where one such company was attempting to buy a park called Trails End, and residents feared the worst.
